A Brief Intro to Me

Since my childhood I believed that people should not be just right brained or left brained. Both the parts exist for a reason. I took up my own life as an experiment. Can't say that I failed.

I am a devotee of Shiva and disciple of my Guru Paramahamsa Sri Nithyananda Swamiji, currently existing on this planet as an economist, data science enthusiast, writer, photographer, content marketer & probably a whole lot more. No, I am not "confused." I just took the time, effort & perseverance to build multiple skills and find out what I really want to do. In the process, I was on a steep learning curve in multiple disciplines. I

I have never understood the idea of being boxed in one “job role.” I believe we should take the time to truly figure out what we want in life, and then pursue it with everything we've got. I believe that any fulfilling work role allows you to expand your talents. So my "work profile" kept trans-mutating. It is because I kept growing.

I believe that each person should define a new work role for themselves – something which taps into what is unique about them.

This work role is not just a "role," it is your vacation for life. You do this well, it fulfills you, everything’s fun.

I believe in adding a little art, music and poetry to everything I do. Not literally. Well, sometimes literally too.

I think success happens to people who are avant garde – ahead of their times. Who have the courage to work on a future others are scared to even think of.

I think we change often as people, and we should create a life for ourselves that allows us to accommodate this change. I believe that our minds are our biggest cages.

Content Marketer + Strategist

Content marketing/ strategy – I discovered that people do not like being sold to. They like being entertained, informed, answered, educated and acknowledged instead. They like to know who and what you are all about before they want to have anything to do with you.

That is content marketing. Making yourself heard, making people understand your key message without having to shout it out of the roof tops - that is content marketing, and that is what I did for 5+ yrs. I was awarded the Most Influential Content Marketing Professional of the Year award by World Marketing Congress 2017.

I founded Quiller with this passion. We simplify content marketing.

When I was little, I didn’t know anything called “writing”. I was forced to write boring essays in my summer vacations. Their boring-ness made me postpone the task to the last week of the vacation and then race my imagination at the 11th hour to complete it. In the end, what I wrote in those 20 essays didn’t matter to anyone (LOL), but the habit of racing my imagination and trying on new words, like new shoes, and trying to emulate famous writers, stuck on.

When I grew older, I discovered that it was thought of as a real talent. To me it came naturally so it never seemed a big deal to “write.” People liked my writing and I liked my writing, so everything was good… enough for me to go on writing.

So I kept on writing and loving it. I write about travel, marketing, art, photography, design, spirituality & … myself

I also write fiction. I also write haikus and flash fiction

I believe I’ll create atleast 5 new genres of writing in my lifetime. Two of these are already in the works – Non non Fiction & Flash Photo Fiction.

Writing did not occur to me as a talent because to me it was a funnel for my thoughts & ideas. My command over the language was only a small part of it. I am a book lover, so improving my language skills was not tough for me.

I recently created my Substack called The Ruminist. This is where I ruminate.

Not entirely random (or variable): Economics, science, technology & its place in the universe

I started an independent publication on economics, sciencce & tech, which features my articles on pertinent issues in the fields, with some knowledge bytes.

Director,

Ishittva Dharma Sansthapan Foundation is a non profit organization to revive, reclaim and re-establish Sanatana Hindu Dharma globally. It works on projects which address human rights of Hindus, animal rights and dharmic education for young and old alike.

The founding principle of the foundation is the following verse from Bhagavad Gita:

यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत ।

अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदाऽऽत्मानं सृजाम्यहम् ।।4.7।।

परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् ।

धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय संभवामि युगे युगे ।।4.8।।

Photographer

Photography was my first foray into really, passionately, insanely taking up something creative as a part of my mainstream life. It was also the first skill which I mastered very quickly.

I learnt very early on that rules don’t make good photographs. Numbers don’t make good photographs. Technology doesn’t either. The maker of the photograph makes good photographs. It goes back to the heart you put into it.

I figured that I didn’t mind my photographs being imperfect. I DID mind them being boring.

To take a good photograph, you must be in love with what you see & with seeing itself.

Editor,

Hinduism is the most ancient religion and lifestyle, nurtured by Rishis and enlightened beings through the ages.

Yet, it faces many challenges as of today - Academic Hinduphobia, secularism, abuse of Hindu Gurus, misrepresentation of sacred scriptures, ignorance of Hindus, factually wrong history books, mis-reporting of news by mainstream media, forced conversions by Abrahamic religions, and many more.

"Hinduism News" is a project by Ishittva, to bust myths & wrong narratives around Hinduism, and share ancient knowledge of our scriptures in a format palatable to modern day Hindus. Ignorance is a disease which needs a permanent cure. The project includes videos and researched based articles which address all of the above.

Artist

For me, art is the way I relate with Life. It is my relationship with Life.

I make art when I’m most alive.

Everything else is action. Art is non-action. It is my special place where nothing other than me & Life exists. I play with all mediums and formats of art – paints, pencils, charcoals, markers, and anything new I find. Doodling is as important a piece of artwork to me as a life-size painting.
